Our Story: How Pin Hive Came to Life
Pin Hive began as a dream fueled by a love for art, nature, and community.
Our founder, Sarena Harris, first fell in love with designing while living and working at Dry Tortugas National Park (DRTO). Surrounded by nature and history, she discovered her passion for art and a deep care for the environment. Life brought her to Orlando, Florida, where she faced challenges balancing art school, toxic jobs, and her mental health. In those difficult times, Sarena found unexpected joy in a simple hobby: Disney pin trading.
What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion and then a calling. Sarena started hosting live shows and selling her excess pins online, eventually transforming her personal art portfolio site into what Pin Hive is today. At first, the site listed Disney pins from live shows, but her vision quickly grew beyond becoming an established reseller. She wanted to create meaningful, high quality pins that told stories and gave back to the planet.
The road wasn’t easy. Sarena’s first experience manufacturing her own pins was frustrating and disappointing: poor communication, low quality, and overcharging nearly made her give up on creating. But persistence and vision paid off. She eventually partnered with a factory that matched her values: transparent communication, high ethical and environmental standards, and exceptional craftsmanship. Together, they now produce Pin Hive’s exclusive line of eco conscious, long lasting collectibles.

Pin Hive has grown from humble beginnings into a small but mighty operation that offers:

- A Design Lab to help others create their own pins with factory ready designs and ethical production support
Why We Do What We Do
Sarena’s love for the ocean, scuba diving, and nature fuels Pin Hive’s mission. We believe businesses should give back more than they take. That’s why:
- Each retail sale plants a tree and removes plastic from the ocean.
- Wholesale, custom, and collaboration projects include a 5% sustainability fee to maximize environmental impact responsibly.
- We produce in small, intentional batches to avoid waste and overproduction.
- We ship every order in compostable or repurposed packaging, using tree free paper for invoices and notes, as well as honeycomb wrap, wax paper, and recycled bubble wrap in liue of manufacturing traditional plastics.
- We print every backing card on recycled paper and repurpose our iron and metal alloy pin molds to reduce waste.
Pin Hive isn’t just another business, it’s a dream brought to life. We know what’s happening in the world, and we’re determined to make sure our work adds beauty, joy, and kindness, not harm. Every pin we design is made to last, meant to spark connection and celebrate the things that matter most.

Our Creations & Services
Original Designs: We create our own high quality enamel pins, accessories, and other assorted collectibles with an emphasis on artistry, storytelling, and lasting quality. Every design is carefully crafted to feel like both a collectible and a keepsake.
Retail & Resale: Our pins are available for retail through our shop and for resale through wholesale partnerships with stores and organizations who share our values.
Custom Projects: We help others bring their own pin ideas to life, offering factory ready design services and access to our trusted factory partners to ensure your pins meet the highest standards.
Our Eco Mission
We hold ourselves accountable for our environmental impact.
For retail sales, each product plants 1 tree and removes 2 plastic bottles from the ocean.
For wholesale, collaborations, and custom projects, we include a 5% sustainability fee, which funds as much tree planting and plastic removal as the contribution allows.
We design and produce in small to medium ethical batches to avoid waste, overproduction, and overconsumption.
