How Pin Hive
came to life.
Pin Hive began with a love for art, nature, and the unexpected connections that tiny collectibles can create.
Our founder, Sarena Harris, first fell in love with designing art while living and working at Dry Tortugas National Park. Surrounded by wildlife, ocean, history, and an environment unlike anywhere else, she developed a deeper love for both art and conservation.
Life eventually brought her to Orlando, Florida. During a difficult period balancing art school, stressful jobs, and life in general, she stumbled into a hobby that brought some much needed joy: pin trading.
What started as collecting and trading eventually became live shows, selling extra pins online, and finally transforming a personal online art portfolio into the beginnings of Pin Hive.
But the goal was never simply to become another pin reseller. Sarena wanted to make original artwork and meaningful collectibles inspired by the world around us and created with more thought for the planet they came from.
We wanted to create the kind of pins we would be excited to discover, trade, collect, and keep for years.
