About The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
First published in 1820, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is one of America’s earliest works of Gothic literature. Set in the quiet village of Sleepy Hollow, the story follows schoolteacher Ichabod Crane and his fateful encounter with the mysterious rider. The Headless Horseman, said to haunt the countryside in search of his lost head, has since become an iconic figure in American folklore.
