About the Lighthouse:
The Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse stands on the north side of Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, marking the northern end of the Florida Reef and guiding boats safely between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. First lit in 1907, this iron skeletal tower rises over 130 feet and is equipped with a powerful Fresnel lens whose white flash can be seen from many miles offshore. Today, it remains an active aid to navigation and a protected historic landmark, with the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society helping to maintain the light and offer limited tours so visitors can experience the view from the top.
