About the Whale Shark:
Whale sharks are the largest fish on the planet, reaching lengths of more than 30 feet while remaining gentle filter feeders. Instead of hunting like most sharks, they cruise slowly through warm tropical waters with their mouths open, straining plankton, tiny fish, and eggs from the water.
Each whale shark is covered in a unique pattern of pale spots and stripes, a bit like a fingerprint.
